You Need Us Most

Dental emergencies can be scary for kids and parents alike! Whether it’s a broken tooth, a painful infection, or a sudden injury, our team at Pediatric Dentistry of Loveland is here to help with prompt, gentle care that puts your child’s comfort and safety first.

Dr. Matthew and Dr. Katie are Board-Certified pediatric dentists with advanced training in emergency care. They’ve treated children in hospital settings before and understand how to respond quickly, calmly, and with a deep respect for each child’s emotional needs. As parents themselves, they know how important it is to feel heard, supported, and reassured during urgent situations! You can trust us to help your family through emergency situations and get you back to your regular routine before you know it.

What Counts as a Dental Emergency?

Please call us right away if your child is experiencing any of the following:

  • Severe toothache or facial swelling
  • Broken or chipped teeth with pain/bleeding
  • Knocked-out/displaced tooth
  • Dental abscess or infection
  • Soft tissue injury (lip, tongue, cheek)
  • Bleeding that isn’t stopping
  • Trauma from a fall, an accident, or a sport

Are you unsure if the situation is an emergency? Call us! We’ll help you decide what to do next.

What to Do in a Dental Emergency

  • Stay calm and reassure your child! A parent’s calming presence matters most.
  • Control any bleeding with a clean cloth and gentle pressure applied to the area.
  • If a tooth has been knocked out, keep it moist (in saliva or milk) and bring it to our office. This is most important for permanent teeth!
  • Avoid giving aspirin or placing it directly on the gums.
  • Call us immediately! We’ll guide you step by step.
