New Pediatric Dental Patient Information Loveland

Welcome! Please Enjoy the Fun!

We are super excited to welcome you and your child to their first visit! We have built a space just for kids, where exploration and education pair together to build trust and comfort. Below you will learn about our unique, inviting, and fun approach to pediatric dentistry with a tropical twist.

Start here!

Join Dr. Matt and Dr. Katie in our welcome video to see exactly how we tailor every first visit to your child’s age and comfort level!

Our Tropical Passport

Start your child’s visit with our signature Tropical Passport, a fun and educational travel guide for their smile! It’s designed to enhance their experience in the clinic and encourage healthy habits long after you’ve left our island oasis. Watch the video to learn more about what's inside!

Each patient receives a “tropical passport” with their photo!

Each dental chair represents a tropical island where patients can “travel” to.

Passport stamps are collected at each “island” chair. Additional stamps are earned for completing tasks and goals for oral health!

Over time, stamps are redeemed for additional prizes from our “Stamp Menu.”

Sensory-Friendly Spaces

  • We have laser light displays on the ceiling to help provide a sense of visual calmness.
  • Interactive tablets with gentle games are available in the waiting area.
  • Hands-on dental toys can be explored and used to learn through play.
  • Quiet private rooms are always available with flexible pacing for children who need a little extra comfort.

Gentle Steps Built for Kids

  • We start out with a thorough cleaning and dental exam tailored to your child’s age and comfort.
  • Low-radiation digital X-rays will be captured (if needed) with clear explanations.
  • Our doctors will always engage in fun, interactive education about brushing, flossing, and healthy habits (and for the parents, we’ve created an educational book with visuals called “Keeping Kids Cavity Free” that will assist with homecare!)
  • Patients who are three years old and up will receive a brushing report card at each visit, helping them remember where to improve.
  • Kids will earn tokens and can spend them at our two prize walls to celebrate their successes.

Tokens and Treasures

We believe in the power of positive reinforcement! As your child completes healthy milestones during their visit, they’ll earn Tropical Tokens to redeem at our two Tropical Treasure Walls. These small rewards go a long way in building a positive experience and keeping kids excited about their dental health. We love being generous with Tropical Tokens!

Learning Through Play

We believe that dental education should be engaging. That’s why our team uses storytelling, visuals, and hands-on tools to teach kids about teeth in ways that they both understand and enjoy. Whether it’s learning about sugar bugs or practicing brushing on a plush shark, we always make oral health memorable in a fun way.

Clear Communication from Trusted Guides

Every island adventure needs a great navigator – that’s where Dr. Matthew and Dr. Katie come in! They take the time to explain everything they see during your child’s visit. From X-rays to brushing tips, their goal is to make sure parents feel informed, empowered, and confident in your child’s oral healthcare journey.

From our doctors, you can always expect:

  • Gentle, age-appropriate explanations for your child
  • Clear summaries of findings from their cleaning and exam
  • A collaborative approach that respects your family’s values and goals
  • Plenty of time for questions, discussion, and personalized recommendations
  • A thorough explanation of treatment options (if needed) so parents feel empowered to choose what’s best for their child
