Our Commitment to Safety as a Loveland Pediatric Dental Practice

Safety First, Always

At Pediatric Dentistry of Loveland, safety isn’t just a standard — it’s our foundation. Every detail of our office is designed to protect your child’s health and comfort. From advanced medical training to sensory-friendly spaces, we’ve created a dental home where families feel secure, supported, and truly seen.

We’re here to meet children where they are, whether they’re medically complex, neurodivergent, or simply a little nervous! Here is how we keep them safe at every visit and treatment.

Medical Safety

Dr. Matthew and Dr. Katie have expertise you can count on, having completed additional years of specialized training at children’s hospitals. This makes them uniquely qualified to care for:

  • Children with special healthcare needs
  • Children with complex medical conditions
  • Children who require sedation or advanced behavior guidance

Both dentists are certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and all our assistants are Basic Life Support (BLS) trained, which means we’re always prepared throughout each appointment.

Emotional Safety

We take pride in maintaining a calming environment where kids can just be kids. Emotional safety is just as important as physical safety, and by having a space that’s playful and peaceful above all else, we can reduce fear and anxiety at every turn. Some of our sensory-friendly features include:

  • Laser light displays on the ceiling to help create visual calm
  • Hands-on dental toys that satisfy curiosity and add comfort
  • Interactive tablets with soothing games in the waiting room
  • Private check-ins available upon request
  • A warm, welcoming team that’s trained to help kids in need
  • A full range of sedation options, from nitrous oxide to general anesthesia

Anesthesia Safety

We’re proud to be the only pediatric dental clinic in Northern Colorado that’s partnered with a Board-Certified Pediatric Anesthesiologist! Their advanced training and expertise mean that we can safely manage general anesthesia in our young patients and provide peace of mind to families who need advanced treatment options or have children with complex medical or behavioral needs.

Dental Safety

Dr. Katie and Dr. Matthew have invested in advanced technology and thoughtful techniques that make dental care safer, more comfortable, and more effective. Here’s what sets us apart!

  • CO2 Laser Treatment minimizes bleeding, eliminates water irrigation, and reduces aspiration risk. It’s ideal for soft tissue procedures with very minimal discomfort.
  • SOAN Intraosseous Injection System is a nearly undetectable numbing method that avoids the sting of traditional shots and eliminates lingering numbness. Kids can eat, speak, and play right after treatment! No downtime required.
  • Fender Wedge Tooth Protection is a small but mighty tool that shields neighboring teeth during treatment, preventing accidental damage and preserving enamel.
  • Isodry Isolation System helps protect the cheeks, tongue, and airway throughout treatment while keeping our working area dry and safe. This is especially helpful for younger or more active patients!
  • Digital X-Rays don't need film or chemicals to create detailed images of your child's smile. Instead, they're immediately available on our computer for diagnosis. Radiation exposure is 90% reduced overall!
